Mike Lindell thought the 2020 Presidential election had been 'stolen' and continued to perpetuate the claim

Twitter Inc. permanently removed the account of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell late Monday night for allegedly repeatedly violating the company's policy on election misinformation.

Twitter decided to ban Lindell, due to consistent breaches of its civic integrity policy, a spokesperson said in a statement. The policy was implemented last September and is targeted at combating disinformation, although its rules are difficult to follow.

It was not immediately clear which posts by Lindell on Twitter triggered the suspension of his account, according to The Associated Press (AP).

Lindell, a fervent supporter of former President Donald Trump, financed post-election protest movements in a bid to overturn US President Joe Biden's November 3 election victory.
