Preparation for the construction of the wall along the southern border has actually made it easier in some places to cross into the U.S., Business Insider is reporting.

The Insider attributed its information to sources based along the border in Arizona.

Contractors have blasted new ravines through mountains to make way for still unbuilt portions of the wall. In addition, they have built access roads for heavy machinery.

The sources said the work has created easy paths, where there once was none.

Laiken Jordahl, described as an environmental campaigner, said: “The pure idiocy of this administration will likely end up facilitating new cross-border smuggling routes in places that were once so rugged nobody crossed.”
