Jerusalem, Israel - Nov. 27, 2020 - In Israel, the constantly changing regulations for COVID-19 have caused confusion. The numbers of positive tests for the virus are rising, but more stores and malls were allowed to open.

The weather forecast had predicted rain for Friday, November 27, 2020. However, the sun was shining in the morning and the temperature was pleasant. 

Erev Shabbat Vayeitzei was a good time to head back to the Old City. 


Walking past Paris Fountain and the site of the anti-government protests by night, one can see the progress on hotel construction on King David Street.

Though many Israelis are not familiar with Thanksgiving, Black Friday has become a major advertised event. In Mamilla Mall the line for the store ZARA was so long to ask if they were giving things away.

Walking into the Old City by Jaffa Gate and taking the road through the Armenian Quarter, only a few stores were open as there were few people and very few tourists due to the coronavirus.

Several tour groups were out in various locations. However, the old stone walls and gates were easier to photography without the usual crowds.

The plaza by the Kotel is divided into small sections with white fabric to limit numbers as per corona regulations. But it was good to hear the sound of music from a simcha. Balloons, shofars, drums, and masks, erev Shabbat parshat Vayeitzei in Yerushalayim.
