Tropical Storm Isaias whipped through the Chesapeake Bay and will head up the East Coast Tuesday night.​​ Two dead in Maryland and NC.

MARYLAND — Tropical Storm Isaias lashed the mid-Atlantic with tropical storm-force winds and several inches of rain Tuesday before its expected move up the East Coast by the evening.

As it churned by Maryland, officials said the storm produced tornadoes and flash flooding. A Maryland driver died in a storm-related crash and a tornado spawned by the storm is believed to have killed one person in North Carolina.

At 11 a.m., Tropical Storm Isaias was about 20 miles south-southwest of Fredericktown in Cecil County, Maryland, according to the National Hurricane Center. It was packing sustained winds of 70 mph and moving north-northeast at 35 mph.... Read More: Pikesville Patch
