Baltimore, MD – May 19, 2020 - Children are the lifeblood of any shul.  Having youth participating in davening, attending Shabbos morning groups or hearing their sweet footsteps as they run through the lobby is one of the ingredients that invigorates a shul each week.

Unfortunately, with so many shuls around the country closed, including our own shuls here in Baltimore, our shuls have been missing the sounds of our children and, just as important, our children have been missing the sounds of our shuls.

Last Erev Shabbos, at the suggestion of the new Rebbetzin, Bnai Jacob Shaarei Zion’s new rav, Rabbi Daniel Rose, sent the children of BJSZ the letter shown below, along with lollipops for each child.  The message to the children was simple and sweet: their shul misses them, but we are so proud of everything they are doing to help Klal Yisrael!
