Baltimore, MD - Feb. 21, 2020  - As you may know, the Mikvah of Baltimore is having a dinner on Wednesday, February 26, 7:00 pm, at the DoubleTree in Pikesville. The dinner will honor community members who have given their lives and significant resources to ensuring the mikvah has run smoothly, providing our community with an essential part of Jewish life.

The Mikvah only has a dinner every 30 years, so this is our opportunity as the young families of the community to show our gratitude to the volunteers who have carried the weight of the Mikvah for the community, as well as our gratitude to the people who made possible the Mikvah's beautiful renovations.

There are many important tzedakos in this community, and we all have limited dollars to give, but as the Chofetz Chaim zt”l wrote in Sefer Taharas Yisroel, "the building of a mikvah takes precedence over building a shul, buying a sefer torah and all other mitzvos.” Without a mikvah, Jewish life is not able to continue. We b"h have a beautiful mikvah, and therefore, do not have the obligation to build one, but the funds raised for the dinner will ensure the mikvah is able to continue to operate and that it will have the funds to make repairs as needed.

If you are able to attend this important dinner and haven't already RSVP'd, please make sure to attend. If you are unable to attend, please consider putting in an ad. You can you make reservations and place an ad at www.mikvahofbaltimore.org or by calling 410-303-4696.  If the ticket cost is prohibitive for anyone who would like to attend, please reach out to bmikvahdinner@gmail.com or 410-303-4696, and we would be happy to make an accommodation.

Tzku l'mitzvos.
