Baltimore, MD - June 3, 2019 - Dr. Roneet Lev is one of the country’s foremost experts on the medical science of marijuana. She has 25 years of experience as an emergency room physician treating frontline cases of addiction. She published “Death Diaries” in 2013, a project that examined the prescribed drugs that killed 254 people in San Diego County. Her program on safe prescribing in emergency departments won the 2014 National Association of Counties Award. Dr. Lev now serves as the first chief medical officer for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), charged with providing medical leadership in coordinating drug policy across the federal government.

Dr. Lev will be speaking for Chayeinu, tonight, June 11, 8:00 pm, at Congregation Shomrei Emunah. As recreational marijuana becomes more easily accessible for students, parents (and other adults) need to learn about the dangers for young people and what we can do about this growing problem. There will be time set aside for questions and answers. If you would like to have your question submitted to Dr. Lev before the program, please feel free to send it to chayeinubaltimore@gmail.com

Chayeinu is a new Baltimore Jewish organization with a mission to provide education and awareness about the dangers of addiction. Watch for information about other upcoming programs.
