Mayor Bernard C. "Jack" Young is set to be sworn into office Thursday as Baltimore's permanent mayor

This ceremony comes just a week after former Mayor Catherine Pugh resigned amid investigations into her "Healthy Holly" book deals.

Young took office as acting mayor in April when Pugh took a medical leave of absence to recover from pneumonia.

Young automatically became mayor following Pugh's resignation and he will serve as mayor for the remainder of Pugh's term.

In many statements, Young has said he is not looking to run for mayor following this term and intends to run for reelection next year as council president.
