The number of Israelis who identify with Reform Jewry has risen considerably. Actually, the number has doubled since 2010 according to a Dialogue poll commissioned by Yediot Achronot.

According to the poll, 7% of Israelis and 11% of the non-religious community identify themselves with the Reform Movement, representing a significant growth since reporting that number to be 3.7% back in 2010. According to Yediot, this represents the largest number of people identifying with the Reform in Israel’s history.

The poll reveals that 56% of the non-religious and 38% of those who identify as ‘traditional’, have during the past year taken part in a wedding or bar mitzvah led by a Reform or Conservative rabbi. In addition, 44% of Israelis do not identify with any stream of Judaism as 29% view themselves as dati leumi, 10% chareidi, 7% Reform and Conservative and 5% other.
