Baltimore, MD - Jan. 28, 2016 - Now more than ever, with the tremendous amounts of snow still left on sidewalks and streets throughout our neighborhoods, and with Shabbos upon us, it is important for anyone walking on the road to make yourself more visible. Wearing reflective clothing or a reflective belt during the day and night is essential. During the day, due to the snow’s glare and the huge snow piles on our main and small streets preventing full visibility, drivers may not see you. At night, when visibility is obviously even more reduced, it is also very important to take necessary precaution. Wearing a reflective belt is extremely helpful for pedestrians and drivers and saves lives.

Since many of you will be walking to and from shul throughout Shabbos, The Chesed Fund & Project Ezra has arranged to have free reflective belts available at most community shuls beginning Friday morning. There will also be a limited supply of belts available tonight at Seven Mile Market from 7- 9 PM. Please make sure to take one, wear it, walk carefully, and stay safe.

Special thanks to Pikesville Pharmacy, located in Seven Mile Market, for their sponsorship of this important community initiative. This community safety initiative is in memory of Rabbi & Mrs. Abraham P. Hirmes and Mr. M. Leo Storch whose yahrzeit is this evening the 19th of Shevat.
