Baltimore, MD - May 27, 2025 - Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger is hoping state’s attorneys around Maryland can talk with the governor about juvenile crime because he says the system isn’t working.

Shellenberger says “younger” juveniles are committing violent crime — and that more needs to be done the first time juveniles enter the system so that “we won’t see them again.”

“That’s the place that I think we are falling down, is we are not doing enough to make sure we don’t have to re-arrest them,” Shellenberger said.
