Minister Ben Gvir held meetings with key congressional leaders today in Washington, D.C. Representative Jim Jordan, Chair of the House Freedom Caucus and Representative Claudia Tenney, Chair of the Judea and Samaria Caucus met with the Minister to discuss the Trump Plan for Gaza, the implementation of the death penalty in Israel for terrorists who have murdered citizens, and freedom of worship on the Temple Mount.

After a confrontation with protesters in the hallway, the Minister also met with Representatives Mike Lawler, Head of the highly influential Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee and Brian Mast, Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Direct Confrontation Between Minister Ben Gvir and Anti-Israel Protesters

An unusual and charged confrontation took place tonight in the halls of Congress during the Minister’s official visit. Anti-Israel activists from CAIR and CodePink had organized in advance, managed to penetrate the corridors and began shouting harsh slogans at the Minister. The protesters called Minister Ben Gvir a "war criminal" and tried to physically approach him, but were stopped by Congressional security personnel.

Despite the commotion, the Minister did not flinch and responded with characteristic strength: "Terrorists, 9/11 supporters, Israel haters, saboteurs, baby killers. Israel will remain ours!"

Despite attempts at disruption, the Minister’s meetings with congressional leaders were warm and productive, forging stronger ties. Several expressed interest in tours of Israel’s correctional and security facilities with Minister Ben Gvir during their next visit to Israel.

The congressional meetings wrap up the end of a successful week-long visit to the United States. Over the past seven days, the Minister has met with many senior figures in the Jewish community, visited US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, spoke at Yale University, and toured various police and correctional facilities.

The Minister is expected to return to Israel tomorrow to arrive in time to participate in the National Memorial Day Ceremony honoring fallen Israeli police officers.
