RZA, AMIT, OU, YU, RCA, YOUNG ISRAEL, TOURO & UNITED MASHADI JEWISH COMMUNITY ENDORSE MIZRACHI SLATE IN ZIONIST CONGRESS ELECTIONS

VOTING FOR THE PARLIAMENT OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE RUNS FROM MARCH 10 THROUGH MAY 4

NEW YORK – Eight leading Orthodox institutions in the United States have come together to endorse World Mizrachi and form the Orthodox Israel Coalition (OIC) in the upcoming World Zionist Congress elections. The organizations include the Religious Zionists of America‒Mizrachi, AMIT, the Orthodox Union, Yeshiva University, the Rabbinical Council of America, the National Council of Young Israel, Touro University and the United Mashadi Jewish Community of America. Partner organizations include Torah MiTzion, Bnei Akiva, Shvilim and others.

World Mizrachi is on the “frontlines” in defending Israel and the Jewish people in the global battle against antisemitism, promoting Jewish unity, fortifying global Jewish education and Torah institutions, building communities throughout Israel, and responding to the call for Am Yisrael, Eretz Yisrael, and Torat Yisrael.

During the current cycle, Mizrachi has worked tirelessly to advocate for Jewish communities in Israel’s periphery, promote Jewish education globally and ensure the continuity of religious Zionism both in Israel and abroad. These gains have translated into hundreds of millions of shekels allocated to critical initiatives, creating lasting impact for communities across the Jewish world.

The election runs from March 10 through May 4, 2025, and will help decide how more than US$1 billion annually is allocated to causes in Israel and the diaspora by Israel’s national institutions.

The group’s formation of the Orthodox Israel Coalition (OIC) and World Mizrachi is part of the long-term partnership between the organizations. Leaders from each institution have graced Mizrachi’s slate and delegations for over 120 years, including Roshei Yeshivas, professionals, lay leaders and student and youth program participants.

The coalition’s strong wins in the previous election in 2020 have enabled the Mizrachi movement to leverage its momentum to deliver for the Jewish people, the Jewish state and global Torah education. The coalition’s strategic success not only bolstered its presence in the Parliament of the Jewish People but enabled Mizrachi to leverage its role to support the Dati Leumi community’s top priorities in Israel and across the Jewish diaspora, particularly in spreading Torah while remaining on the frontlines for Israel and the Jewish people.

“When the Dati Leumi community comes together in a common effort through the Orthodox Israel Coalition, we prove how powerful that unity can be in terms of delivering results for our community,” said World Mizrachi’s Executive Chairman Rabbi Doron Perez. “It is extremely humbling to see once again so many rabbis, educators, community leaders and the emerging leaders of tomorrow what to be a part of our slate and mission.”

“For more than 120 years, Mizrachi’s coalition of U.S. Orthodox institutions have ensured that our community is well represented in the World Zionist Congress,” said Orthodox Israel Coalition Campaign Co-Chair Mark Levenson. “From education in Israel and abroad, to diaspora affairs, to Israel’s own development, our community has participated in every major conversation undertaken by the ‘Parliament of the Jewish People.’”

“Since Mizrachi first participated in the World Zionist Congress, the organization has invested in building partnerships to support the community’s needs while recognizing that each election impacts the broader Zionist movement far beyond the five years in between elections,” said AMIT Board Chair Chana Holzer Shields, who also serves as a co-chair of the Orthodox Israel Coalition’s campaign. “With over a century of credibility, Mizrachi has continuously led the Department of Religious Affairs and held key positions in education and diaspora affairs, strengthening religious identity and heritage in Israel and around the world.”

With continued commitment and engagement from supporters in Israel and abroad, World Mizrachi is poised to build on this success, ensuring that religious Zionism remains a driving force for the next generation. From March 10 to May 4, 2025, vote for the Orthodox Israel Coalition in the World Zionist Congress, empowering it to remain on the frontlines for the Orthodox community.
