Jerusalem, Israel - Jan. 15, 2025 - Information on the release of Israeli hostages, held for over 446 days in Gaza, has taken over the minds and hearts of Am Yisrael.

The announced release of only a few hostages at a time is a further torture for their families. How many of the 98 hostages are alive is also unknown.

In Yerushalayim, protests are pressuring for the release - NOW!

But also protests have been held to support the families of fallen Israeli soldiers. Those who do not want the government to give in to the extortion by Hamas using these humans as blackmail to release thousands of convicted terrorists. They do not wish the loss of the 840 IDF killed to be in vain.

As we await what comes next, BJL walked to the Old City to see the Western Wall Heritage Foundation's latest work project on the Plaza area.

The photo essay includes views in and around the Old City, for those not coming to Israel for the Yeshiva Week vacation.

The weather has been perfect for walking, but rain is needed.

However, when the news is depressing, there's nothing like the beauty of Yerushalayim for at least a few minutes of tranquility to uplift your soul.
