Baltimore, MD - Dec. 12, 2024 - In today's 2 final sentencings the driver that dropped off the group to carjack was sentenced to 30 years and five years of parole. He misbehaved in court and threatened to kill the other defendant being sentenced.

The second defendant, an accomplice in the carjacking, was sentenced to a life of 25 years and 5 years parole.

Many family members spoke, sharing emotional statements on behalf of the family and community.
In a poignant move, Efraim's mother placed a photo of Efraim on the table,  and all present received a button with Efraim’s picture.

The Judge was moved, and spoke briefly with each family member when they finished reading.

Today completes the final steps of the long 3 and half year legal process.

There may (likely) be appeals, but for now the family will begin a journey of healing.

We thank the hundreds of community members who have been there with us, who have assisted, and shown support.

We invite the community to commemorate Efraim and this moment, in the lighting of a public Menorah on the DoubleTree Hilton lawn (at 695), on Monday Dec. 30th at 4:30.

More details will be shared.
