The UN General Assembly on Tuesday adopted a resolution calling for the organization of a high-level conference aimed at implementing relevant resolutions and achieving a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Arab conflict.
The resolution, which was introduced by Senegal and co-sponsored by numerous countries, passed with 157 votes in favor, eight against, and seven abstentions.
In addition to Israel, the other countries that voted against the resolution were Argentina, Hungary, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, and the United States.
Cameroon, the Czech Republic, Ecuador, Georgia, Paraguay, Ukraine and Uruguay are the countries which abstained.

Baltimore, MD - Dec. 3, 2024 - The Maryland State Department of Education released its 2024 Maryland School Report Card on Tuesday. The results show an improvement from last year for many school systems around the state. But some districts in the Baltimore region appear to be going in the wrong direction when it comes to high-performing schools.
The report card grades schools on a one-to-five-star scale, based on factors such as academic achievement, progress and graduation rates.
About 1,300 public schools across Maryland are rated.
This year, 91 schools throughout Maryland earned a five-star rating, the highest possible score. That’s up from 85 schools last year.
Baltimore County had the most five-star schools in the state with 20, up one from 2023.

Baltimore, MD - Dec. 2, 2024 - Baltimore County Police said they will maintain a presence of additional officers in the area around Towson Town Center throughout the holiday season, especially after five teens were arrested following an attempted carjacking.
Police said the attempted carjacking happened in the 800 block of Dulaney Valley Road, in the Towson Town Center Parking Garage, around 8 p.m. Saturday. Police said the suspects were a 13-year-old male, two 15-year-old males, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female.

According to data from the Baltimore Police Department, there have been at least 70 arrests made of young people between Nov. 2 and Dec. 1. There were 21 arrests made for auto theft, 24 arrests made for robberies, and five arrests made for carjacking. The kids arrested ranged in age from 12 years old to 17 years old. The young people arrested were taken to Juvenile Booking for “review of secure detention,” according to BPD. Those totals do not include paper referrals, which can result in charges later.
