Baltimore, MD - Sept. 1, 2024  - With the significant growth and expansion of the Ranchleigh/Beazer area of the community, there are two important updates to the LL 92 MTA bus route that will go into effect this week for the start of the 2024-25 school year.

Serious safety concerns have been expressed regarding the MTA bus going down Green Meadow Pkwy in the vicinity of Mercaz Torah U’Tefillah during the morning congestion hour. In response to that concern, all four MTA 92 routes buses will be rerouted at the intersection of Willow Glen and Pimlico – as will be explained below. Additionally, the 92 route will extend slightly east to accommodate students at the Smith-Rosetta intersection, as will be explained.

For the buses that go to Bais Yaakov Elementary School (92 Velvet Valley), Talmudical Academy (92 Scotts Hill), and Torah Institute (92 Rosewood): At the Willow Glen-Pimlico intersection, the bus will turn left onto Pimlico Rd, then make a right turn onto Farringdon Rd, and continue until the bottom at Edenvale Rd. After turning left onto Edenvale Rd, the bus will proceed to Smith Ave. At Smith, the bus will turn right and continue east on Smith Ave until Rosetta Rd where it will turn right and proceed to Willowcrest Circle. After turning around, the bus will return to the Rosetta-Smith intersection where it will either turn left to continue towards Bais Yaakov Elementary, TA, or TI.

For the bus that goes to Bais Yaakov Middle/High School (92 Copper Ridge): At the Willow Glen-Pimlico intersection, the bus will turn left onto Pimlico and proceed until the Smith Ave light, where it will make a right. It will go down Smith Ave until Edenvale Rd and turn right. It will then turn right onto Farringdon, and return to Pimlico Rd, where it will turn right and return to the Smith Ave light. It will then turn right and head to the Bais Yaakov Middle/High campus.

In the afternoon, the routes will simply flip – reflecting the changes.

Please understand a few things regarding this new adjustment:

1.      The goal was to find a safe and convenient route for the neighborhood that does not leave behind any area that was previously serviced.

2.      Several of the bus stops will not be properly aligned to begin the school year, but none of the stops have been eliminated. Some stops will have moved 20 or so feet or are now across the street, but the bus drivers are aware of the places they need to stop to pickup or drop-off riders.

3.      We (and the MTA) ask that you exercise patience during the adjustment period of this update. There has been a staffing issue at MTA that has slowed down this process and will also likely slow down the adjustment period.

B’ezras Hashem the transition process will go smoothly and there won’t be more than a very limited interruption to anyone’s schedule as a result of the MTA bus and the modifications to the route.
