Ritchie Torres (D-NY) is urging U.S. airlines to rethink their extended suspension of flights to Israel, expressing concerns that these decisions could be seen as unfairly targeting the Jewish State. Torres wrote to the CEOs of American, Delta, and United Airlines, questioning why they halted flights without direction from the FAA. He emphasized that this has created a monopoly for El Al, leading to higher prices and fewer choices for travelers. Torres warned that these extended suspensions, planned to last into 2025, might be interpreted as a form of boycott, especially given that other airlines continue to fly to Israel safely.
