Baltimore, MD - Nov. 2, 2023 - U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona met with Jewish student leaders from various Maryland schools as part of the White House's effort to combat antisemitism,according to WBAL. The meeting, which included over two dozen Jewish student leaders from Towson University, Johns Hopkins University, and Goucher College, aimed to facilitate honest dialogue. Students expressed concerns about universities not effectively addressing antisemitic incidents, leading to violent protests. Towson University President Mark Ginsberg, personally affected by the situation as a person of Jewish faith, voiced his distress. Cardona mentioned that his department is preparing new federal guidelines with clear language to counter antisemitism on college campuses, which will be distributed to university presidents nationwide.
