Jerusalem, Israel - Oct. 31, 2023  - Many Israeli businesses are suffering after weeks into Iron Swords, a war Israel did not want. By expert accounts, we have only begun the second stage of a three-stage war. After years of periodic military operations in response to Hamas aggression the ground invasion has begun to finally eradicate the Hamas terrorist threat.

How does one answer the question - how are you?   Jerusalem tourism is shut down. Thousands of reserve soldiers are away. Young families are trying to keep up with multiple demands on the home front. School reopenings are sporadic as sirens warn of missile or rocket danger.

Two Israeli businesswomen have taken their online business meetups to a new frequency to support Israeli small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Founder Nathalie Garson has hosted a Global Network Monthly Meetup for Jewish Women Entrepreneurs and Leaders for over 3 years, since the early days of the pandemic. "When you are an entrepreneur, you work mainly alone, even when you have a team, and you rely a lot on your energy level and your positive mindset to give you the drive that you need to move things forward," she explained to BJL.

"In a war situation, like we have right now in Israel, it becomes very challenging for entrepreneurs to focus and to concentrate, let alone be productive or get anything done.

And this is even more true for Women Entrepreneurs because they are very often the main caregiver at home especially if the husband has been called as a reservist by the army, then the woman entrepreneur is truly alone."

Seeing the need to help and support Women Entrepreneurs, she decided very quickly to organize a free online weekly Support Meetup with experts coming from different fields to share tips and advice on how to handle this situation from a business, emotional, and personal aspect. The first meetups were very successful. Many women said that it helped them relax and be less anxious about what was happening, and they could feel their energy level change.

"Naturally location, personal family situation... and yes, your resilience level affects how well you're functioning right now. Be kind to yourself, yet recognize if you need additional assistance!" she advises.

Lesley Kaplan,  Business Strategy, Branding & Goal-Achieving Coach, Consultant, and Trainer, has adapted her coaching and online networking & business development groups to include additional options, with enhanced practical tips and support. Men and women of all ages, including business owners, employees, stay-at-home moms, and students benefit from her expanded activities to match the current need and crisis in Israel.

This includes the launch of her weekly online 30-minute Monday-Motivation-Spotlight group as well as a complimentary business strategy or goal-setting meeting for Israelis who qualify. The new group, which is free to join, is open to participants worldwide, and has the dual objective of spotlighting inspiring individuals (focusing on Israelis), as well as motivating participants to pursue & achieve their goals, with tips, support, and accountability provided during the 30 minutes on Monday morning.

To start off the inspirational Monday morning sessions was Hillel Fuld, called Start-Up Guru by Google, and named Israeli's top marketer. He is a global speaker, tech journalist, online brand ambassador, and social media wiz.

The second Monday morning presenter, was Jodi Samuels an international speaker, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for children with special needs since her youngest child was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth. Her memoir "Chutzpah, Wisdom, and Wine: The Journey of an Unstoppable Woman"  shows how she uses resilience - a lot of humor, and some coffee and wine - to face life's challenges and come out on top.

Lesley's shared with BJL tips to improve focus and work-life balance during challenging times that could benefit us all:

    · Focus on what you can control, rather than on what is controlling you

    · Set limited goals, one at a time. Write them down, including your personal & family achievements for the day

    · Do good for others - use your strengths to do so. It's a win-win for all sides

    · Self & Family care: If you're on top of things, your family will likely be too. Allow yourself downtime & treats

    · Survival first. If you're able to, use this time for admin, planning, growth and pivoting

    · Reach out to your clients so they know you're there for them. If you're not available to work, let them know too

    · Limit TV and social media time

    · Surround yourself with positive people & activities

Full disclosure, the writer has known both women for many years and has benefited from participating in online sessions. They were together on a podcast Tuesday night to discuss how they benefit from keeping busy and helping others.
