Baltimore, MD - July 5, 2023  - Mayor Brandon Scott's enforcement of the curfew in Baltimore appears to be less rigorous than initially promised, according to sources reported by FOX45. This policy relies on volunteers to interact with curfew-violating youths and persuade them to return home or be transported to a curfew connection center in Park Heights, which should stay open until 3 am.

However, sources indicate that the curfew center closed early on multiple occasions over the July 4th holiday weekend, shutting down at 11 pm on Friday and at midnight on Saturday and Sunday. This lax enforcement occurred despite a mass shooting in Brooklyn shortly after curfew enforcement ceased, which injured numerous teenagers.

Kinji Scott, an activist, has criticized the curfew enforcement as ineffective and wasteful, costing taxpayers a million dollars. He has called for Mayor Scott to admit the failure of the policy and close the curfew centers.
