Elan Ganeles, a West Hartford native who attended the Hebrew High School of New England, was killed Monday in a shooting near Yericho.
According to a report by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Ganeles was shot and killed while driving a vehicle near Yericho, which is located in the West Bank. PBS reported that Ganeles was transported to the Hadassah Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
In a statement, David Warren, president and chief executive officer of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, said Ganeles was killed "in a brutal act of terrorism."
"The violence in Israel has taken countless lives both young and old, but when it’s someone from our community, the shock and sense of loss runs even deeper," he said. "Elan and his family were members of Young Israel in West Hartford."... Read More: CT Insider
