Jerusalem, Israel - Feb. 20, 2023 - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered his first address in English since his re-election, and his first speech to an audience of American Jewish community leaders on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel.
The Conference of Presidents National Leadership Mission includes top leaders from the Conference’s 53-member organizations and its National Leadership Council.
The delegation is being led by Conference of Presidents Chair Dianne Lob, and CEO William Daroff. The group will meet with Israeli leaders in government, the military, and academia, including President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, Minister of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Amichai Chikli, Leader of the Opposition Yair Lapid, and Doron Almog, Chairman of the Jewish Agency.
In addition, over the course of the week, the delegation will attend committee meetings in the Knesset where they will meet with a range of representatives from the different factions, visit key strategic sites, meet with business leaders, policy experts, and opinion shapers from various sectors of society to engage in dialogue regarding Israel’s current priorities.
For six decades, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations has worked to advance the interests of the American Jewish community, promote broad-based support for Israel, and addresses critical concerns facing Israel and world Jewry.
US Ambassador Tom Nides was interviewed by Dianne Lob and answered audience questions prior to the Prime Minister's remarks. The Israeli Prime Minister has addressed the Conference since the time of Levi Eshkol and received a gift from the conference. Malcolm Hoenlein was called on to present the artwork based on the Jewish star to the Prime Minister.
The Conference of Presidents National Leadership Mission will take place from February 19-23, 2023.
