The Cabinet's decisions are being implemented immediately: along with formal recognition of nine new towns in Judea and Samaria, 9000 new housing units are being approved for construction.

These include, among other things, about 1,100 new housing units that will be approved in Ma'ale Adumim, about 600 in Tel Zion, about 500 in Givat Ze'ev and about 400 in Kedumim and Elazar. In addition, tenders will be published for another 2,377 new housing units throughout Judea and Samaria.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich approved of the moves. "This is an unprecedented achievement for the settlement movement. We made a promise and we are keeping it. After a year and a half that the residents of Judea and Samaria were discriminated against, the Israeli government approves 9,409 housing units."
