Outgoing National Security Adviser and Director of the National Security Council Dr. Eyal Hulata stepped down this week and completed the transition with his successor, Tzachi Hanegbi, which included in-depth study of all security and diplomatic issues. As part of the transition, the two held a joint meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which they discussed several sensitive issues. The Prime Minister thanked outgoing National Security Council Director Hulata for contribution over the years to the security of the state and for serving as Director of the National Security Council.

Dr. Hulata began his tenure at the National Security Council in August 2021. He dealt with various sensitive national security issues including advancing strategic relations with the US administration, formulating and advancing policy on the Iranian nuclear issue, promoting and developing the normalization agreements with countries in the region, and dealing with domestic security issues and the climate crisis.

Dr. Hulata assumed office as National Security Adviser and Director of the National Security Council after 23 years' service in the Mossad, in a variety of senior positions including a decade in the senior command forum.

Outgoing National Security Adviser and Director of the National Security Council Dr. Hulata wished great success to his successor Tzachi Hanegbi, thanked the National Security Council personnel for their dedication and professionalism, adding that he was certain that they would continue to be a professional staff in support of the security and diplomatic activity of the Prime Minister, the Security Cabinet and incoming National Security Council Director Hanegbi.
