Jerusalem, Israel - Dec. 15, 2022 - With Chanukah starting on Sunday night, December 18, 2022, new light decorations have been placed on many Jerusalem, Israel street light poles the week before the holiday.
Again this year, the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens has launched a Winter Nights Festival in collaboration with the Ministry of Jerusalem & Heritage and the Jerusalem Development Authority.
Designed by lighting artist Gil Teichman and team, over 2.5 million small LEDs are used, and the light spreads over 25 kilometers of cables throughout the garden.
The festival will take visitors on a 700-meter-long track covering an area of 14 dunams with lighting displays on trees, shrubs, and most impressive around the pond which shows the large Chanukah menorah reflecting in the water.
Background music by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and food stands add to the holiday atmosphere. The winter lights are to be up until January 31, 2023.
