Seven people were wounded – one severely – in a suspected terrorist attack on a passenger bus in Israel’s Jordan Valley.
The IDF said one soldier sustained severe gunshot wounds and that six additional people – five of whom were soldiers and one a civilian, were lightly injured in the attack.
The IDF and Israel Police were dispatched to the scene and began conducting searches for the terrorists, while blocking routes in the area. Shortly afterwards, the IDF said, two armed suspects were apprehended in a vehicle. The IDF released an image of automatic weapons on the ground, which it said were used by the attackers.
The incident occurred on Route 578 between Beka’ot and the Beka’ot Junction, the Magen David Adom emergency service said in a statement. Two victims with gunshot wounds and two others injured by flying glass were treated at the scene by civilian and military paramedics, MDA said in an initial statement.
