Jerusalem, Israel - Apr. 12, 2022 - Outside the walls of the Old City in Yerushalayim, set up in the area called Gan HaBonim, is a new International Food Festival before Pesach. From April 10-14, 2022, from 3:00 pm until 11:00 pm, the various kosher food stalls are open.

The variety of cuisines is extensive, as was the music, live and recorded, in the various sections along the park-like area. For example, in the US section near the Tower of David which featured burgers, Elvis was one of the singers heard over the loudspeakers. Also, of note, were small sinks with signs "water not for drinking" obviously for washing hands at various convenient locations.

Security was obvious but seemed relaxed on an opening evening as hundreds of people attended. After terrorist attacks in other parts of the country, people in Yerushalayim are cautious but busy preparing for Pesach. The arrival of international travelers to Israel for the holiday season is obvious and a welcome change after two years of Pesach under corona closings. Families and friends have started arriving looking forward to a Chag Kasher V'Sameach.
