Our story: In the year 2011 Rabbi David Frid was diagnosed with ALS, which causes complete deterioration of the muscles in the body. In the beginning, he heroically fought to function on his own, even after he was confined to a wheelchair. At present, the disease has progressed to the point where he is now fully paralyzed, on a breathing machine and although fully cognizant, can only communicate with his eyes. He needs 24-hour surveillance and special care to survive. The ongoing costs are mind-boggling. The family cannot continue without your support!

Fridays with R' Dovid

From the outset of R' Dovid's illness we have been surrounded with support and endless acts of kindness from friends, family and even people we have never met. These selfless and caring deeds are not only saving the lives of R' Dovid and our family, but are also creating merits that help save the world.

Harav Hagaon Rav Shimon Katz Shlita, Rosh Yeshivat Keser Dovid here in Telz Stone, has known R' Dovid for many years. When R' Dovid became ill with ALS, a cruel and debilitating disease which eventually left him paralyzed and attached to life support, the Rav took on the task of visiting every Friday. In rain or shine, on short winter days, whether he has just stepped off a plane or is in the midst of his own family Simcha, Harav Katz comes to deliver words of Torah and Chizuk, infusing our home with light, faith, hope and joy.Watch the above video to hear Harav Katz's special message to R' Dovid and K'lal Yisroel during his pre-Purim visit.
