Baltimore, MD - Mar. 23, 2022 - On Sunday, March 6, 2022 Laniado Hospital of Netanya had the honor to host Baltimore’s Mercaz Torah U’Tefillah (MTT) under the leadership of Rav Yissocher Dov Eichenstein.

MTT’s Mercaz Daf Yomi visited Eretz Yisroel in honor of their siyum on Seder Moed. Among the participants were magidei shiur, askonim and Laniado’s very own Mid-Atlantic board co-chair, Gil Horwitz. After visiting numerous gedolim and mekomos hakdoshim, MTT made a special visit to Kiryat Sanz, Netanya to see firsthand Laniado Hospital’s life-saving work and to meet the hospital’s Nasi, the Sanzer rebbe שליט”א.

At the hospital, Rav Eichenstein related that MTT stands for Torah, Avoda, and Gemilus Chasodim, and connected it to Laniado, which is all about genuine Chesed. As per Laniado’s founder, the saintly Klausenberger Rebbe זצוק”ל, the hospital runs al pi halacha and its essence and guiding principles are to provide the best possible medical care with utmost compassion, and to alleviate the physical and emotional pain and suffering of every single person in need.

Their visit began in the main lobby with a stunning display of a beautiful garden made solely of balloons! This amazing work of art was donated in honor of Chodesh Adar to bring joy to Laniado patients and staff.

Next it was off to the newly renovated Labor and Delivery and NICU departments. Participants had the opportunity to see the beautiful new facilities and hear directly from the department heads how Laniado uniquely treats their patients, really listening to them and collaboratively working with them and their families on their medical needs.

After the tour, the group enjoyed an elegant dinner at the next-door Galei Sanz Hotel. During the dinner, Meir Mark, VP and Nadav Chen, CEO first addressed the crowd before introducing the keynote speaker Natan Barak - renowned for Israel’s Iron Dome, winner of Israel’s Defense Prize, and a Laniado Board Trustee. Mr. Barak opened his remarks by praising MTT for their Siyum and learning and then declaring that Torah and Mitzvos are what really protect Klal Yisroel.

After an fascinating and interactive presentation about the Iron Dome and other defense programs, Mr. Barak concluded by sharing that just like Hashem was hidden in the Megillah, so too all the success that the Iron Dome and the other defense technologies have had is because of Hashem’s hidden miracles.

Following the dinner, the group had a private audience with the Sanzer rebbe. After settling into a small hall adjacent to the Rebbe’s residence, the Rebbe entered with one of his sons and his gabbaim. Rav Eichenstein sat next to the Rebbe on the beautiful dais along with the Rebbe’s son.

The Rebbe expressed tremendous admiration towards the balebatim who are committed to limud haTorah saying “you came to receive chizuk, but I’m the one who is receiving the chizuk.” After a heartfelt talk, the Rebbe gave each person a personal handshake, bracha, and a sefer on the Megillah. The rebbe’s warmth, love, and personal attention was felt by all.

Laniado is more than a hospital - it’s an olam Chesed founded al tahras haKodesh, and it has the honor and privilege to celebrate Torah milestones with its partners throughout the world.
