Israel’s chief rabbis and some 1,000 leading chareidi and religious Zionist rabbonim recently attended a conference in Yerushalayim to protest the government’s decrees in kashrus and giyur and the denigration of the Chief Rabbinate. Rav Chaim Kanievsky, prominent Bnei Brak dayonim, and the Shas Moetzes publicized letters urging that the utmost be done to curb the coalition’s wicked intentions.

European rabbonim and dayonim also publicized a letter opposing the initiative of Minister of Religious Affairs Matan Kahana to innovate new conversion procedures.

Signatories included the Sephardi Congregations of London, the Manchester and Strasburg botei din, and a special letter from Rav Shraga Feivel Zimmerman, gaavad of the Federation of Synagogues in London.
