Israel's Prime Minister Naftali Bennett secretly met last week with Jordan's King Abdullah II in Amman, according to a report in Israel's Hebrew-language Walla News, citing a former senior Israeli official.

While the Prime Minister's Office refused to comment, it would mark the first meeting between an Israeli prime minister and the King of Jordan in more than five years.

The official reportedly said that the meeting was very positive and at the beginning of the meeting Bennett informed Abdullah of his willingness to approve a deal to sell more water to Jordan, which was confirmed on Thursday by Israeli Foreign Minister and Alternate Prime Minister Yair Lapid following a meeting with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi....
