Netanyahu meets top security officials amid unrest in Jerusalem, rocket fire in south

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for "calm on all sides" on Saturday after an emergency security cabinet gathering.

The assessment saw the PM discuss the situation in eastern Jerusalem as well as the rocket attack on Israel's south with the country's top security officials.

Among those present were Defense Minister Benny Gantz, Public Security Minister Amir Ohana, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, who canceled his official visit to the US amid the tensions, and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) chief Nadav Argaman.

National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat and Israel Police head Kobi Shabtai were also attending, the PM's office said. Read more at i24
