Rocket sirens have gone off in Southern Israel and the Patriot missile defense system has reportedly been activated near the site of Israel’s nuclear facility in Dimona.

According to initial reports, a large explosion was heard by nearby residents, who said their homes shook from the force of the blast. Initial reports claim that a missile was intercepted by a Patriot system near the nuclear facility.

While details are still sparse, some believe the ongoing incident could be a retaliatory attack by Iran on Israel’s sensitive facilities after their own nuclear facility in Natanz was sabotaged.

If it is indeed a missile attack, it is most likely that it was fired by Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy situated closest to Israel, rather than from Gazan terror factions, who seldom target that section of Israel.
