Israeli public health official says goal is to inoculate 4 million citizens by March 2021

“Israel will likely be the first country to come out of the coronavirus [crisis] in the coming weeks,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.

Israel’s longest-serving prime minister noted that on Wednesday some 65,000 citizens were vaccinated against COVID-19 and that he hopes that until next weekend the state will have the capacity to inoculate 100,000 people per day.

Referring to the government’s decision to keep the schools open as Israel enters its third national lockdown, Netanyahu stressed that it was made in order “the pupils not miss out on classes and to make it easier for the parents.”

Earlier on Thursday, Health Ministry Director General Prof. Hezi Levi said that the state’s goal is to inoculate four million citizens by March 2021. Read more at i24
