Jerusalem, Israel - Dec. 18, 2020 - Erev Shabbos Miketz 5781 in Yerushalayim the sky cleared after days of rain and the warming sun came out again. This was not the Chanukkah of big events. The Great Synagogue is still closed. Other shuls have tried to adapt to the COVID-19 changing restrictions.

Restaurants are closed, but takeout food is available. The usual international holiday tourists are missing and the familiar tourist destinations are deserted.

However, people were filling the midtown Jaffa Road area and arriving by the hundreds to Shar Yaffo.

This Chanukkah in Yerushalayim was a time for families to meet in the parks, in small family groups. A time to pray for the end of the coronavirus pandemic. A time to pray for good health.

 Zos Chanukkah 2020.

Next year in Jerusalem!
