Israel’s so-called coronavirus cabinet walked back its original decision to impose restrictions and a curfew during the Chanukkah holiday period, which was set to begin Thursday evening, according to Israeli media reports.

Israel recorded 1,849 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Thursday. Some 15,997 are currently infected with the disease, including 321 in serious condition and 87 on artificial respirators.
