Israel's Foreign Ministry lauds EU statement; World Jewish Congress brands it 'significant step'

The Council of the European Union adopted a resolution Wednesday calling for a “strong and systematic judicial response” to rising anti-Semitism, the Times of Israel (TOI) reported.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry hailed the move, saying “Israel welcomes the EU Council’s declaration emphasizing the central place of the fight against anti-Semitism on the European agenda.

“The adoption reflects a strong position regarding anti-Semitic instances, including physical and digital anti-Semitic attacks,” the ministry added.
