President of Israel Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin today, Thursday 12 November / 25 Cheshvan commented on today’s fatal helicopter crash involving MFO members. Eight members of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) were killed - six American citizens, one French, and one Czech.

“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the eight families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones today in the United States, in France and in the Czech Republic. They served their countries and MFO with distinction and their loss is a tragedy. My hopes and prayers are for the full and swift recovery of the survivor, who is being treated in an Israeli hospital this evening. The Multinational Force and Observers is an integral component of the Israeli-Egyptian Peace Treaty that plays a crucial role in preserving security and stability in our region, and has done so with dedication for over four decades.”
