The Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority - more commonly known as Yad Vashem - is facing severe budgetary constraints due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Approximately 35 percent of the museum's budget comes from the Israeli government, but because the ruling coalition has yet to pass one, Yad Vashem has received less than half its annual budget, reported The Jerusalem Post.

Yad Vashem's overall revenue has dropped an alarming 80 percent during the pandemic, which accounts for approximately 10 percent of its annual budget.
Many non-profits, including museums have witnessed a precipitous decline in donations due to the economic effects of the lockdowns. More than 50 percent of Yad Vashem's annual budget derives from donations. Read more at i24
