Almost 1 million Israelis now unemployed, approximately two-thirds of those on unpaid leave
Israel's new lockdown, which came into effect on Friday, September 18, has added over 200,000 people to the country's unemployed, Employment Service said Sunday.

According to the report, 207,191 Israelis have registered as employment seekers since September 17. Out of those, almost 187,000 were put on unpaid leave.
Furthermore, more than 150,000 of those registering as unemployed in the period already did so at least once during Israel's first lockdown in spring. Read more at i24
