Lockdown to remain in place until at least October 14, new protest regulations confirmed in overnight vote
The Israeli government voted to extend the nationwide lockdown on the country by three days in an overnight vote, keeping the restrictions in place by at least October 14.

The vote also saw the government confirm the new rule banning Israelis from traveling more than 1 kilometer from home to take part in political protests and demonstrations during lockdown -- a contentious decision that the Knesset (Israel Parliament) earlier approved.
The arrangement, lamented by the opposition leaders, will remain in place for a week.
