2,617 new cases in the past 24 hours

Israel on Saturday registered the grim milestone of over 1,000 deaths from the coronavirus pandemic, as the spread of the infection showed no signs of slowing down. 

As of Saturday evening, the death toll was at 1,007, according to figures released by the Health Ministry.
