The police are treating the June 4 attack on former Likud MK Yehudah Glick when he visited the east Jerusalem house of mourning for Iyad Halak as a nationalistic crime.Legal aid organization Honenu provided The Jerusalem Post on Monday with a police document that indicated the police believe they have reasonable grounds to treat the incident as a battery with the aggravating circumstances of being tied to hostility to the State of Israel.


The recognition for Glick as being a victim of a nationalistic crime can grant him various financial and special health compensation from the state.In addition, Honenu noted that one of the attackers involved has already cut a plea deal to serve five months in prison and pay NIS 4,000 in compensation to Glick.
