Restive coastal enclave registers first cases of COVID-19 community spread

The Hamas terrorist group put the Gaza Strip on a two-day lockdown due to concerns over COVID-19 coronavirus, Israel Hayom reported Tuesday.

The lockdown, effective since Monday night, comes on the back of four confirmed cases in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the enclave's central part, all linked to the same family.

According to local officials, the infections cluster was revealed after a woman visited the West Bank, where she was tested for COVID-19 -- and the test returned positive. Read more at i24
