Jerusalem 'not looking for unnecessary escalations,' Defense Minister notes

Israel’s Defense Minister and Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz sent a warning Sunday to Iran and Hezbollah, saying “anyone who will test us -- will meet a very high capacity for action.”

The former military chief visited the Northern Command as tensions rose to seething levels following Hezbollah’s threat to avenge the killing of one of its operatives and two militants in Damascus last week in an air raid allegedly conducted by Israel.

“I was very impressed by the depth of analysis, and the way in which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operating in the Northern Command area are being prepared,” Gantz said in a meeting with IDF Chief-of-Staff Aviv Kochavi, among other generals. Read more at i24
