21% report reductions of food or meal consumption, as gov't approves financial relief plan

More than half of Israelis (55 percent) fear they won’t be able to cover their monthly expenses, while 42 percent of ages 21 and older feel stress and anxiety, a new survey published Sunday shows.

The poll, conducted by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics in the middle of July, also found that the mental state of 26 percent of those aged 21 and up has deteriorated during the coronavirus crisis and the health condition of 8.5 percent of ages 21 and up has similarly declined.

Twenty-one percent of respondents (which extrapolated across the country would total approximately 1.2 million citizens) said they or one of their family members have reduced the amount of weekly food stock or meals consumption.
