Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is reportedly ready to resume peace negotiations with Israel in accordance with international law, the London-based daily Asharq al-Awsat reported Tuesday.

The report comes a day after Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Choukri made a visit to Ramallah, during which the diplomat expressed Cairo’s “strong support” for the Palestinian position against the unilateral annexation of West Bank territories by Israel.
