President Reuven (Ruvi) RIvlin spoke this morning, Monday 22 June / 30 Sivan, with Avner Shalev, Chairman of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, who announced yesterday that he will be leaving his position after 27 years of service and work. The president thanked Avner for his many years of service, motivated by a deep sense of devotion and true mission and wished him success and satisfaction in the future. During their conversation, the president said, “over the last six years we have worked hand in hand to fight for Holocaust remembrance and against its deniers. You were a partner in the historic Holocaust forum that met in Jerusalem in January 2020 and an advisor and guide on Beit HaNasi’s work on the Holocaust. Thank you for your decades of devotion and hope that we enjoy your work for the good of the country for many more years.”
