Baltimore, MD - June 10, 2020 - In response to inquiries my office has received from residents about the reopening of the Baltimore County Public Library System, I received the following note: "An announcement is coming very soon. We will be reopening in the coming weeks in phases with book drops, curbside and then buildings.

Most staff, who have been working virtually, return to buildings next week. Book drops need to be opened a week ahead of curbside due to the number of books checked out of our collection. Over 100,000 books were borrowed the weekend before closing in addition to all of the other materials already in circulation. All books need to sit in quarantine for 72 hours before being put back in the collection per CDC guidelines. The health and safety of our staff and customers is a priority. In the meantime, our virtual collection is available 24/7 and we have a host of virtual programs available. Check our website for details at bcpl.info."
